The hard work is paying off for local business owner Philip Andrawos who has been recognised with Bridgestone's highest accolade - the National Dealer of the Year Award - for the second year in a row.
Philip's Oaklands Park Bridgestone Select store also picked up the State Dealer of the Year Award for the third year running.
The awards were presented to the winners at this year's 2008 National Franchise Conference at the Crowne Plaza, Hunter Valley.
"It felt absolutely amazing when we were announced as the winner. I knew we had worked hard but I couldn't believe it when we were awarded the national prize again," Philip said.
"It's a fantastic achievement for my team as they have all put in a big effort to get to where we are.
"And the prize is even more amazing - a brand new HSV Maloo ute."
The award recognises excellence in customer service under Bridgestone's Master Class program.
"Involvement in the Master Class program keeps us motivated to portray a real sense of professionalism to our customers through maintaining a clean working environment, friendly staff and excellent customer service," Philip said.
According to David Goldsworthy, Bridgestone's Retail Channel Manager, the Master Class program sets extremely high standards for customer service so winning the national award two years running is a fantastic achievement.
"Philip and his team at Oaklands Park are proof that great customer service gets great results. It's little wonder they've set the benchmark for not only South Australia but the rest of Australia as well," David said.
Just over a year ago the Oaklands Park store was one of the first in Australia to open under Bridgestone's new retail format - Bridgestone Select, transforming its approach to customer service.
Among the many innovations being introduced, Bridgestone Select immediately distinguishes itself from the pack by becoming the first major retail outlet to trial a tyre-free showroom. The fresh, open showroom offers quality coffee, a relaxing lounge area with plasma TV, interactive signage and a clean, quiet environment.
Completing the experience is the innovative approach to the sales process. Rather than be on opposite sides of a traditional counter, the Bridgestone Select experience places both retailer and customer at one of the free-standing computer ‘pods' with information on-screen.
Other winners of state awards were Bridgestone Tyre Centre Esperance (WA), Bridgestone Tyre Centre Hoppers Crossing (VIC/TAS), Bridgestone Tyre Centre Nambucca Heads (NSW/ACT) and Bridgestone Select Store Slacks Creek (QLD).
