The legendary customer service expertise of Nambucca Heads Bridgestone Tyre Centre has been recognised, with the store winning Bridgestone's coveted State Dealer of the Year Award for NSW and ACT.
Brothers Brian and Keith Ward and their wives Cheryl and Jen have steered their business to success, winning the award for the first time in eight years of operation.
The awards were presented at this year's 2008 National Franchise Conference at the Crowne Plaza, Hunter Valley.
"We were absolutely ecstatic to win the State Award for NSW and the ACT," Cheryl said.
"We were so surprised - the competition is extremely tough and we never imagined we would win."
The awards recognise excellence in customer service under Bridgestone's Master Class program.
According to Cheryl, the key to the team's success was a combination of hardworking staff and an increased focus on building strong relationships with their customers.
"Involvement in the Master Class program is a great way to stay motivated in all areas of running the business, from keeping up-to-date with promotions and staff training to ensuring we continue to improve our customer service," Cheryl said.
"We have achieved a gold rating from Bridgestone the last couple of years in a row but this award definitely means that all our hard work has paid off. Bridgestone have been a great support."
According to David Goldsworthy, Bridgestone's Retail Channel Manager, the Master Class program sets extremely high standards and winning a state award is a great achievement.
"The Master Class Program sets extremely high standards for customer service across all Bridgestone outlets around Australia, so the team at Nambucca Heads should all be congratulated for their hard work," David said.
The National Dealer of the Year Award was won by Bridgestone Select Oaklands Park in South Australia. Other winners of state awards were Bridgestone Tyre Centre Esperance (WA), Bridgestone Tyre Centre Hoppers Crossing (VIC/TAS) and Bridgestone Select Store Slacks Creek (QLD).
